Family Sand Sculpture Festival

If you've got the talent for some serious sand sculpting, we've got THE sculpture festival for ya.

On Saturday August 12th there will be a family sand sculpture festival on Horseneck Beach and it is completely free! Registration will start on the main Horseneck Beach Boardwalk from 10AM to 11AM. The actual sculpting will take place from the end of registration until 2PM and judging will begin at 2PM as well. The awards ceremony will be at 2:30 PM. If the weather decides not to hold out for the competition the rain date will be Sunday August 13th with the same schedule.

All ages and skills are welcome to the free event and they are categorized by age. The Sand Fleas are the youngest age up to 12, the  Sand Hoppers are 13-17, the Sand Shapers are 18 and up, and there is also a family category which is all ages. There will be a limit of 50 sculptures entered for placing in first, second, and third place in each group. Make sure to bring your own pails, shovels, and building equipment, as far as sand and water goes, the beach has it for you. Let the summer go out with one last day of family fun!
