Fall River was well represented on Saturday night as MMA fighter Yorgan De Castro made his exciting debut for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship at Mohegan Sun Arena.

With the gloves off, this heavyweight came out swinging and secured a vicious TKO victory, resulting in one of the most viral clips of the evening for BKFC.

De Castro Defeats Bobby Brents at BKFC

It only took two out of a schedule five rounds for “The Mad Titan” to get the job done. With constant forward pressure, De Castro found success in the pocket and delivered a devastating cross to the face of Brents, forcing Brents to take a knee.

While Brents was able to finish the round, the doctor stopped the fight before the beginning of Round 3 due to a massive hematoma that formed over his eye.

Thanks to Yorgan’s punching power, he got the TKO via doctor stoppage.

Yorgan De Castro, a Fighter at Heart

De Castro has fought an astonishing six times over the past twelve months across several promotions, earning 4 MMA titles along the way, and shows no signs of slowing down.

“As a fighter, I believe you should fight as often as you can as long as you are healthy and making improvements with every fight,” he said. “I am most likely towards the end of my career. I don’t want to have any regrets when this is all said and done. That’s what keeps me going.”

De Castro has made a name for himself in the MMA cage, but Saturday night was his first bareknuckle experience and it brought a new list of challenges.

“The no gloves was a big unknown situation, but I got hit twice and it felt exactly the same as MMA gloves,” he said. “I was pretty confident and comfortable with no gloves, it was very fun.”

“Yorgan is truly one of a kind,” said Ross Levine, De Castro’s striking coach. “Hes a scary individual to hold pads for, yet we have such a great time warming up together. We keep things light and fun but when it comes time for business, Yorgan knows how to execute.”

De Castro, The Family Man from Fall River

Levine shared a sweet moment that took place before the fight between De Castro and his 10-year-old daughter.

“His 10-year-old daughter broke down the game plan for him the morning of the fight and said, 'Dad, I was thinking a lot about this and I have a good game plan for you. One or two leg kicks and he’ll be done.'"

She wasn’t quite up to speed on the “no kicking” rule but she was more than ready to cheer on Dad in the Squared Circle.

Along with De Castro’s daughter, hundreds of fans from Fall River took the trip to Mohegan Sun to watch their favorite Heavyweight.

“I am blessed and honored to represent Fall River,” said De Castro. “When I moved to Fall River, the city basically adopted me and had my back every step of the way. I feel like every time I fight, the city stops and supports me, and that means something to me.”

For 2025, The Mad Titan aims to fight at least six more times.

“I belive you make a name for yourself through hard work,” he said. “Saying yes to every opportunity that comes your way and showing up is important.”

Expect De Castro to climb his way to the top of the BKFC rankings and fight for that heavyweight title.
