A Fall River man was arrested and charged with extortion and criminal harassment for blackmailing his neighbor. He demanded nude photo's of her in exchange for not exposing her alleged affair.

According to The Herald News, The FRPD with help from the NCIS investigated and then arrested Stephen Kirbos, of 6 Madison Court in Fall River on charges of extortion and criminal harassment, according to documents filed in Fall River District Court.

The victim is a service woman working on a military base in RI which is why the NCIS was involved.

Authorities are saying the suspect allegedly wrote an anonymous letter to the victim and also tried contacting her with phone calls and text messages.  In the letters and messages, Kirbos said he was aware of an extramarital affair and that if she didn't send him nude photos to the cellphone number listed, he would expose the affair. In this letter, there was explicit detail and sexually explicit images that the he wanted to receive, this is according to court documents.

The victim reported the incident to authorities on the military base and they in turn contacted the FRPD seeing that Kirbos is a civilian.  Police are saying that the suspect admitted to them that he wrote the letter and also that he contacted the victim with google voice which allowed him the anonymity so he could take advantage of random cell phone numbers according to the court docs.

The probable cause hearing for this case isn't until June 13th.  In the meantime, the victim has an emergency harassment order against Stephen Kirbos and he was ordered to stay away from her after being arraigned earlier this week in district court.
