A Fall River bar isn't afraid to jump on the new viral trend of throwing some jalapeños in your glass of wine.

It's been popping up all over my "For You Page," people throwing slices of jalapeños in their glass of sauvignon blanc.

I think we have all seen and heard of people throwing a few ice cubes in their wine, which I will never understand, but throwing a pepper in? No way.

Apparently adding jalapeños to your wine will help cut the sweetness of the wine and give it a more balance flavor. Wine experts say it can provide a more crisp flavor and even possibly bring out the natural flavors of the wine.

Taking this viral trend one step further, many are placing the jalapeños in the freezer before adding them to their wine to keep the wine colder for a longer period of time.

We searched the SouthCoast to see if any bars or wine spots were jumping on the trend and a fan favorite in Fall River, Tipsy Toboggan, is all over it. They are even asking patrons if the prefer their jalapeños whole or sliced.

I'll admit I love my wine, all types, but I have yet to try this concoction. I do like a jalapeno margarita, but spicy wine? From what I can see, there is not muddling or smashing of the jalapeños; just toss them into your wine and drink.

This mixture is not new, as people have been chatting about it on Reddit threads for years now, but leave it to TikTok influencers to get us to try it. Bartenders are scratching their heads, I'm sure.

I may be late to the trend as many are already calling this the drink of the summer.  Have you tried it? I feel like it would give me heartburn.

Looks like bars across the SouthCoast need to stock up on jalapeños.
