A Fall River substitute teacher is accused of choking a 12-year-old student in front of a classroom full of kids.

Imagine getting the news that your little boy was strangled in front of the class by a substitute teacher.  Nicole Brennan received that news last week.  Fall River police told FOX25 that when the school resource officer showed up, she saw the 62-year-old teacher “straddled on him with his hands around Ayvian’s neck", and since then...the boy has been so emotionally upset by the incident that he's being treated at a mental health facility.

“He then picked my son up off the floor, slammed him to the cement, hits his head off the floor, and told him if he fights him back, he will punch him in his face. And choked him around his neck, Other students were screaming, ‘Oh my god! Oh my god! Look at what he did!’” --Nicole Brennan (courtesy of Fox 25)

Fall River's Superintendent says that the teacher was not a full time member of their staff, that he was a substitute teacher, and was fired immediately.

The 62 year old teacher will appear in court later this month to face strangulation assault and battery charges..
