Fall River’s Summer Evening Events Are Coming to a Park Near You
FALL RIVER (WBSM) — Summer Evenings in the Park are returning to Fall River, adding more opportunities to get outside and explore the city.
The summer event kicks off in July, and every Wednesday night throughout August, it will take over eight parks throughout Fall River. Its purpose is to expand the city's art culture by bringing neighborhoods together through culture, art and music.
"It's a United Nations kind of event; we get people from all walks of life together. It's important because people in the neighborhood get to meet their neighbors and that's not something they get to do on a daily basis," Mayor Paul Coogan said.

Imagine the convenience of strolling to an event in your own backyard, or the relief of not having to hunt for a parking spot.
Families can look forward to a variety of arts, games and music at each summer event night, making it a hassle-free and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Each family will also be provided with complimentary food and a bag of groceries to take home, courtesy of the Greater Fall River Community Food Bank and the Citizens by Citizens food pantry.
This event is just one of the many initiatives to give back to the community. The Narrows Center for the Arts and Bristol County Savings Bank are two local organizations partnering with the city to make the night happen, in addition to the numerous volunteers.
"These events are really electric. Everybody seems to have fun, and the attendance keeps growing, which is what we're looking for. It's something we work hard to coordinate," Coogan said.
"We realized that if we want to impact people, we go right to their neighborhood, we bring it right to their front door.
This summer in Fall River will be one to be part of. The best part is that there are eight opportunities to take advantage of. Each night will start at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 8 p.m.
