Fall River’s Touching Mural Subject of New Film ‘Dad’s Home’
The Fall River Arts and Culture Coalition has announced the premiere of "Dad's Home," a fascinating short film about a striking mural on the Pearl Street parking garage.
The event is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 9, 5:30 p.m., at Ignition Space, 44 Troy St., Fall River.
"Dad's Home" offers viewers a behind-the-scenes look into the creation of the mural, led by artists BK Foxx and Claudio Picasso. From the beginning blueprints to the final brushstroke, the film captures the passion, creativity and communal spirit that brought the mural to vivid life.
Ashley Occhino, executive director of FRACC, said in a statement: "We are thrilled to extend this invitation to the entire Fall River community to join us for the premiere of 'Dad's Home.' This film is not merely about showcasing the exceptional talent of our artists; it also shines a spotlight on the profound impact of public art in inspiring and uniting communities."
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet the mural apprentices who played a crucial role in bringing the project to completion, as well as filmmaker Lee Francois. Complimentary popcorn will be provided by Inpopnito, a Fall River and Newport, Rhode Island, gourmet popcorn company.
