Fall River Highway Ramp Overnight Closure

FALL RIVER — The state's transportation agency has announced the overnight closure this week of the ramp from I-195 west to Rt. 79/138 north in Fall River.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation, the ramp will be closed starting 9 p.m. Tuesday until 5 a.m. Wednesday and a detour will be in place.

The closure is being undertaken to allow transportation officials to safely conduct routine bridge inspections, the agency stated.

Vehicles traveling westbound on I-195 will be instructed to take exit 5 onto Central Street, then take a right onto Rt. 79/138 north at the traffic signal.

Drivers should also expect delays and reduce speed through the affected area, the agency noted.
