From Fall River to Foxwoods, These Spots Do Igloo Dining Right
The temperatures are dropping across the SouthCoast, but that doesn't mean people aren't eating outdoors. Plenty of New England restaurants still have their patios open and full of igloos.
Igloo dining became a trend of necessity last winter, though its massive popularity seems to say it is a dining trend that is bound to stick around for awhile. While some eateries are happy to put them up, place a table and chairs inside and call it a day, others are taking the trend to entirely new levels. There are definitely domes that outdo others, decorating igloos with themes and featuring lights and couches.
Personally, I would much rather enjoy an igloo with a rug, a couch, comfy throw pillows and more. We even found a few with electric fireplaces in them. Now that's the cozy outdoor dining experience I want.
So where can you go to snuggle under the stars this winter? There are three places we felt really upped the igloo game and made their patios the can't miss outdoors dining spots of the season.
Tipsy Toboggan Igloos - Fall River, Massachusetts
Tipsy might have the most space inside their igloos. From the photos we found on their Facebook page, tables seating up to eight fit inside their domed dining, so your get together can be even bigger.
Coast Guard House Igloos - Narragansett, Rhode Island
Coast Guard House might have the fanciest igloos around. If you are thinking luxury outdoor dining, this is the place to go.
Foxwoods Resort Casino Igloos - Mashantucket, Connecticut
Foxwoods is more than just igloos. Aside from everything inside the casino, Foxwoods recently reopened its outdoor skating rink, and after you hit the ice you can warm up in the themed igloos with snacks and drinks.
So are some of the best igloos in Southern New England like on inside? Take a look for yourself.
