Fall River is preparing for one of its most popular weekends.

Officially known as Dia de Portugal (de Camoes e das Comunidades Portuguesas), Day of Portugal is a special time of year for the city.

The celebration returns to Portas Da Cidade on Ponta Delgada Boulevard in Fall River June 6-9.

"We hope to have a safe and fun event for the entire family," spokesperson Joao Goncalves said. "We try to have a well-rounded program to appeal to different tastes, different ages."

Avo's Feast, Piri Piri Kitchen, Amigos Unidos, Our Lady of Light Band and Mario's Bifanas will be there serving up their Portuguese specialties.
