"We started with cleanups around the city and it has bloomed into dinner for the homeless and feeding the unhoused on the rail trail," Daniel said.

As the frigid temperatures continue on the SouthCoast, many feel extra lucky to have a roof over their head and heat in their home. Although the temps may be dropping, the need for food and shelter hasn't. Christopher's continues to be hard at work doing what they can.

"What we try to provide is warm clothing, jackets, hats, gloves, scarves, sweatshirts, pants, socks, underwear. Pretty much anything you would want to keep warm," Daniel added.

Just a few weeks ago, they passed out mac and cheese, hot dogs and sandwiches. None of the items required refrigeration.

Thanks to generous donations from the community, the volunteers have been able to provide items like Blount soup (served hot), pastries, water, juice and coffee to those in need.

Christopher's plans to keep spreading the positivity and hopes others in the community join them. Those interested in getting involved are encouraged to follow the Christopher's Facebook page or call the cafe.
