In a heartwarming story out of Fall River, five-year-old Jaisper has captured the community’s attention and hearts by selling spider plants to raise funds for a cause close to him: supporting animals.

With the help of his mom, Bianca Martinez, Jaisper set out on his mission with a simple yet powerful idea: to sell plants and donate the proceeds to Forever Paws Animal Shelter, a local shelter dedicated to giving animals a second chance.

Jaisper’s journey began with a little green thumb and a big heart. He set up his spider plant stand at local eateries like Christopher's Eatery and Glass House Cafe, with owners Christopher and Nate Silvia and Brandon Estacio generously offering their spaces for him to sell his plants.

In just under a month, Jaisper had raised an incredible $357, which he proudly donated to Forever Paws on Monday, October 21.

Bianca couldn’t be prouder.

“It made me happy to see that he had accomplished something at a young age,” she said. “I’m always trying to encourage and support him to do good in the world, and I’m proud of him for doing different things and making a difference.”

Jaisper’s kindness doesn’t end with the animal shelter. Over the past months, he’s also lent a helping hand at Groundworks SouthCoast clean-ups and has even helped serve meals to those in need at First Baptist Church.

He’s volunteered at the Cathy Assad Community Garden on North 7th Street, as well as Laundry Love Organization, where he volunteers for the community to get their laundry done for free, and has even helped with a community baby shower event.

He's always eager to give back to others.

Reflecting on his achievements, Jaisper expressed gratitude to everyone who made his mission possible. He wanted to thank not only those who bought his plants but also those who donated the plants, cheering him on every step of the way.

In Jaisper’s words, his favorite part of the donation when arriving at Forever Paws was “giving the dogs dog treats” – a small moment that speaks volumes about the kind-hearted spirit of this young philanthropist.
