Fall River Announces Free Drive-In Movie Night for April
The City of Fall River just announced that it will kick-off its Drive-In Movie Night series at Durfee High School in April.
According to the press release, a showing of The Secret Life of Pets will happen on Saturday, April 24. Although the event is free and open to the public, tickets will be required to enter. Residents may obtain tickets starting on Thursday, April 1 on Eventbrite and in-person at either Re-Creation, located at 45 Rock Street, or Government Center.
Participants in the Earth Day Clean-Up event on the morning of April 24 will be guaranteed one ticket per household, regardless of if the event is sold out. Earth Day is officially celebrated on Thursday, April 22, but the city felt that a Saturday event might be more convenient for residents.
“After a year of isolation, I look forward to these events as one small step towards normalcy,” Mayor Paul Coogan said. “As we begin to reconnect, I hope we use Earth Day to remember that we all have a role to play in taking care of our planet, our city, and our community. These are the first of many clean-ups and events to come this year.”
Mayor Coogan is expected to make a formal announcement about future drive-in events and the Citywide clean-up live at the drive-in event on Saturday, April 24.
I love how the City of Fall River is bringing this back for residents. It's such a great way to bring people together while social distancing.
