Wet Nose Wednesday is here again, so let’s talk about animals.

There is something really special about coming home to a pet. It’s the most unconditional love a person could ask for, and there are hundreds of animals on the SouthCoast waiting for a good home. Fun 107 has teamed up with local shelters to share their stories and unite these animals with the perfect family.

This week, we head to Forever Paws Animal Shelter in Fall River to meet a shy pup waiting to come out of her shell.

Meet Sky. This girl is a seven-month-old mixed breed who is very timid and shy at first, but it doesn’t take long for her to warm up. She loves going on walks and being with people but is very hesitant when she is uncomfortable.

“For example, when she sees a doorway she doesn't want to go through she will drop to the floor, or lay down to avoid it,” said the shelter.

But the shelter believes it won't be a long-term problem once she is familiar with her surroundings, her new family, and the new routine.

Sky continues to improve on the leash every day, and since she is still a puppy, her new family should continue her training.

“Sky would do well with another dog but we would need to do a meet to make sure it would be a right fit,” said the shelter. “She is a bit afraid of cats but we believe she would be okay with them once she learns their rules.”

A fenced-in yard is preferred for her, as well as a family that can keep up with puppy shenanigans.

Does Sky sound like a good fit for your family?
