As more people get vaccinated on the SouthCoast and Governor Baker lifts more COVID-related restrictions, the end of the pandemic - and the end of the worst year in recent history - seems to be getting closer and closer. Hallelujah!

If you're still looking for a spot to get your vaccine, this weekend's clinic in Fairhaven may just be your golden opportunity. The Fairhaven Board of Health and the Fairhaven Fire Department are teaming up with Walmart to offer vaccinations on May 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The clinic will be located at the Fairhaven Recreation Center on 227 Huttleston Avenue and will offer the Pfizer vaccine to Fairhaven residents 16 years and older.

The clinic is walk-in only, so appointments are needed, but the town of Fairhaven highly recommends people planning on attending to call the Fairhaven Health Department at 508-979-4023 ext. 125 ahead of time to help them gauge how many vaccines they will need for the event. All you'll need to bring along with you is an ID card, an insurance card, if applicable, and your arm to get the vaccine!

Since the clinic is available to those 16 years and older, minors under 18 must either be accompanied by an adult or print and fill out a Massachusetts consent form ahead of time in order to receive the vaccine.

Residents who receive the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine on May 15 will have a follow-up date for the second shot on June 5 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Fairhaven Recreation Center.

The one-day clinic will only be open to Fairhaven residents, but you can search for COVID vaccines available near you here.
