Fairhaven Police Hold Free Summer Giveaway With ‘Popsicles in the Park’
FAIRHAVEN (WBSM) — Free frozen treats are continuing to make their way across the SouthCoast.
Just last week, the New Bedford Police Department offered free ice cream during their ice cream social across different neighborhoods.
The Fairhaven Police Department is now giving back to the community with "Popsicles in the Park."

Over the summer, the department will make its way throughout the town, handing out popsicles. On select Thursdays, police will be stationed at different parks and beaches for two hours.
There's no better way to kick off "Popsicles in the Park" than on July 4, right at Fort Phoenix. After that, you'll have three more opportunities until August.
As much as we love the sweet treats, the department wants to ensure that every child gets a chance to enjoy it. That's why it will only offer one free popsicle per child at each event.
If you find yourself out with kids enjoying play at the park or beaches, keep your eyes open because you might get the chance to snag a cold popsicle to cool down.
This is a great way for the community to come together and for the Fairhaven Police Department to give back.
It doesn't hurt to mark the calendars now so that you can attend and enjoy the fun.
