Fairhaven’s Newest Restaurant Brings a Taste of Japan to the SouthCoast [PHOTOS]
Fairhaven is about to get a cozy new spot for tea lovers and foodies alike with a taste for authentic Japanese cuisine.
Hanami Tea House, owned by Chef William Foley, will celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, February 8, from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
It will be located at 358 Main Street, the former home of B.Balanced Fitness.
And yes, there will be plenty of food, fun, and prizes.

Foley, known for his past ventures Yozakura Japanese Kitchen & Boutique Sushi Bar in Acushnet and New Bedford’s South End, is bringing something fresh to the area with Hanami.
Inspired by the Japanese kissaten – traditional coffee and tea houses that serve light meals – Hanami will offer an inviting space where people can gather, connect and enjoy a unique menu.
In addition to tea and coffee, the shop will serve Japanese breads, pastries, and small bites like onigiri (seasoned rice balls) and bento boxes.
Standout drinks include the signature Tsubaki, a bold blend of Japanese iced coffee, Thai tea, condensed milk and heavy cream.
For those with a sweet tooth, the soufflé cheesecake and Japanese strawberry shortcake are already generating buzz.
As a bonus, Hanami will also cater to dietary needs with gluten-free and dairy-free desserts.
Hanami Tea House will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., making it the perfect stop before a movie or for a late-night dessert. Foley also teased potential live entertainment and extended hours in the summer.
With its inviting atmosphere and dedication to Japanese hospitality, Hanami Tea House is already set to be a new go-to spot in Fairhaven for anyone looking to eat outside the box.
