Brian Messier is a local firefighter and paramedic from Fairhaven. Brian works as a Lieutenant Firefighter paramedic for Fairhaven Fire and EMS, in addition to working at the Massachusetts Fire Academy in Bridgewater. He is one of SouthCoast’s Frontline Heroes.

His wife, Erin Messier, nominated him for the program because he is the hardest worker she knows.

“He is a dedicated father and husband and is always lending a hand, often working more than 60 hours a week,” said Messier. “He doesn’t count the hours in the day, but rather he makes the hours count!”

Messier explained that Brian is a veteran and that the two met in the army. Service has always been part of Brian’s soul.

“As a dad with two young kids, he does everything he can to balance both home and work but one thing is for certain, he is always there for the call for both,” said Messier. “He has always shown our kids, if you can be of help to someone in need, you help them. That often means out the door to a call or having to miss out on a family function, but at the end of the day, he does what he can to help who he can.”

Brian is a dependable friend to all who know him.

“He is always willing to lend a hand to those in need outside of the department and the academy too,” said Messier. “His closest friends know, night or day, if you’re in need and he can help, chances are he’s already on the way!”

Thank you, Brian, for all you do day in and day out.
