Fairhaven Fire Association to Host Foam Day at Cushman Park on July 29th
Some summertime fun is coming to Cushman Park in Fairhaven on Saturday, July 29th, courtesy of the Fairhaven Firefighters Local 1555.
Hosting its first-ever Foam Day, the Fairhaven Firefighters Association is excited to offer free entertainment for local families.
Fairhaven Fire Department Loves to Give Back
“We love giving back to the community and doing things that will benefit everyone at no cost to them,” said Kevin Gonsalves, the Fairhaven Fire Association Union President.
The department’s annual movie night has become a popular attraction, and they look forward to doing another one in August, but Gonsalves looks forward to giving the community a summertime activity.
“This summer has been pretty hot, and this will be a fun way for kids to cool down," he said.
How It Works
A fellow union member came up with the idea and the association is ready to fill the park with foam. Gonsalves explained that the firefighters will attach a high expansion nozzle to a fire hose line on one of their fire trucks, and as the hose sucks up the air, water, and soap, the foam will ooze out of the hose and will turn Cushman Park into a foam-filled wonderland.
Important Information for Fairhaven FD's Foam Day
The association recommends that families bring along towels, goggles, and a change of clothes, and everyone is invited to join in (even the adults). There will be music, freeze pops, and plenty of foam.
Fairhaven Fire Association’s first-ever Foam Day will take place on Saturday, July 29th from 1 pm to 2 pm at Cushman Park in Fairhaven.
