After months in the making, Fairhaven’s Chipotle Mexican Grill restaurant will officially open on Wednesday, June 14.

The restaurant will open Wednesday at 10:45 a.m., and will be open until 10 p.m. It has a dining room with a number of tables, as well as an outdoor patio for dining and a drive-thru window.

Today, the restaurant had a “soft opening” for employees, and we got an inside look.

Just like the McDonald’s next door, Chipotle has no entry or exit onto Huttleston Avenue (Route 6); instead, you will enter from the roadway between the restaurants and the parking lots for Staples, Dollar Tree, Big Lots and Tractor Supply.

Work began on the location back in September of last year. The plan was for the new restaurant to open in late spring/early summer of this year, so it looks like it was right on the mark.

Chipotle will also be working with local organizations for fundraisers in which the organizations will receive 33 percent of the event sales.
