Thanks to Wet Nose Wednesday on Fun 107, we have been able to find dozens of animals on the SouthCoast their forever homes. From cats to dogs to guinea pigs, getting the word out each week has given these animals a chance at a better life. With the help of local animal shelters, we continue our mission in getting as many pets adopted as possible on the SouthCoast, and this week, I have the pleasure of introducing you to Sarge the bunny.

Sarge was recently dropped off with another bunny to the Fairhaven Animal Shelter in Fairhaven. They were told it was two female bunnies, but the shelter was confident that Sarge was a male.

“We separated them as soon as we knew, but it was too late,” says Terry Cripps, director of the shelter.

The female bunny gave birth to 10 babies the day after she went to her forever home. Needless to say, Sarge has his hands full, but the shelter is ready to take care of them so Sarge can find a home.

"Sarge not only needs a home, but possibly a job to help pay for his 10 children!" joked Cripps.

Bunnies are a great pet for any kind of family, just be prepared to maintain Sarge’s crate and litter box. Bunnies also like to nibble, so keep Sarge’s mouth busy with carrots instead.

Does Sarge sound like a good fit for your family? Contact the Fairhaven Animal Shelter and like them on Facebook to stay up to date on all of their animals.
