Fairhaven’s Angelo Raises Money for Local Animal Shelter with Heartfelt Holiday Tradition
Meet Angelo, a young new resident of Fairhaven, who is spreading holiday cheer and compassion with his artistic talents this season.
At just nine years old, Angelo has turned his love for drawing into a heartfelt tradition of giving back.
This year, his creative efforts are dedicated to raising funds for the Fairhaven Animal Shelter, a gesture inspired by his new hometown.
Angelo began selling his festive drawings in October with a goal to collect donations until the Friday before Christmas. So far, he has raised $150 and plans to continue until his envelope is full.
While his artistic creations bring smiles to those who purchase them, Angelo’s motivation is rooted in a deeper cause.
“I feel around the holiday season so many people give attention to helping out other people, but the animals need our help too,” Angelo said. “By selling my drawings, I can raise money while doing something I love and spreading kindness. Even though the animals can’t talk to thank me, I know how grateful they are because animals are really thankful for everything that’s done for them.”
Angelo’s journey began last year when he decided to combine his passion for art with his desire to make a difference. Encouraged by his mother, he sold Christmas-themed artwork and donated the proceeds to a local animal shelter.
This year, as new residents of Fairhaven, Angelo chose to support the Fairhaven Animal Shelter, seeing it as a meaningful way to give back to his community.
His mother shared her pride in his efforts.
"Since Angelo was little, he’s always shown kindness toward animals and people. Watching him use his talent to make a difference has been an incredible experience," she said. "Moving to Fairhaven and choosing this animal shelter was his way of making a positive impact in our new community.”
Angelo and his family are also preparing for another big change as he starts at Wood School in Fairhaven this Thursday. While nervous about meeting new friends, Angelo’s charitable work showcases his generous spirit and ability to connect with others through his actions.
As the holiday season approaches, Angelo’s inspiring dedication to helping animals reminds us of the power of kindness and creativity. His story not only introduces him to his new community but also sets an example of how small acts of generosity can create a ripple effect of positivity.
For those interested in supporting Angelo’s initiative, his drawings will be available for purchase through the holiday season, with every dollar going directly to the Fairhaven Animal Shelter.
