The rare right whales have returned to Cape Cod Bay which researchers say marks the beginning of their 2016 feeding season.

Right whales are endangered, but lucky for us here in Massachusetts seeing some is just a short ride down 195.

National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration have captured quite a few photos of them...

Right whales are among the world's rarest marine animals, but they come to Cape Cod every year to feed on zooplankton.

According to NBC 10, the Center for Coastal Studies has observed nine right whales since February 21st.

There are only 526 right whales in the world and the center says in the last few years about half of them have appeared in Cape Cod Bay.

If you do head out there to try and see one for yourself, remember it is illegal to go within 1500 feet of a whale without a federal research permit.
