UPDATE: The bomb threat was deemed "not credible" by Easton Police with no danger to the public.

EASTON — Staff and students have been evacuated as Easton police and fire crews are responding to a bomb threat at Oliver Ames High School this afternoon.

A joint release from Easton Police Chief Keith Boone and Fire Chief Justin Alexander stated that police received a report of a bomb threat at the school at around noon Tuesday.

The school was evacuated immediately and police are searching the building.

Other schools in Easton are under an order to stay in place, officials said.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area near the school to allow first responders to work, and parents are asked to follow guidance from the schools on student pickup.

State police are helping at the scene.

No further details have yet been released.
