Dollar General Coming to Wareham

A recent wickedlocal.com report announced, that the town of East Wareham is set to break ground on an all new Dollar General store, within the next month. Dollar General is a discount store that got its roots in Tennessee and offers low prices on everything from children's toys to home supplies.

The store's location is set to be along Cranberry Highway where the White Pines Motel was previously located. The land there has been vacant since 2012, when the motel was torn down after its closing in 2011, as the result of a double stabbing.

Previous plans for the land had been to build affordable housing but that deal fell through when the developer's company broke up. It looks as though the store will open up more jobs for Southcoast residents, which is a plus!
