Dartmouth Police Arrest New Bedford Man Wanted for Theft
DARTMOUTH (WBSM) — Dartmouth Police arrested a New Bedford man on an outstanding larceny warrant and for additional driving violations after fleeing from officers.
On Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at approximately 4:25 p.m., Dartmouth Police said they observed Joshua Bishop, 29, operating a 2021 Jeep Compass on State Road.
According to police, Bishop was wanted by the Massachusetts Parole Board. Police then attempted to stop the Jeep when Bishop accelerated and fled.
Numerous officers had converged on the area. Bishop was eventually stopped in the Stop & Shop parking lot on Faunce Corner Road and placed under arrest.
In addition to the outstanding warrant for larceny, Bishop was charged with speeding, reckless operation and failure to stop for police.
Upon the completion of booking at Dartmouth Police headquarters, Bishop was transferred to members of the Massachusetts Parole Board.
