Dartmouth K-9 Helps Locate Missing, Non-Verbal Mattapoisett Man
DARTMOUTH — A Dartmouth Police K-9 is being recognized following his work helping to locate a missing non-verbal man suffering from dementia.
On Sunday, May 9, at about 4 p.m., the Mattapoisett Police Department requested assistance from the Dartmouth Police K-9 Division to help find the missing man. Officer Jared White and his K-9 partner Tyr responded and police say they performed a track based on an article of clothing from the missing man.
According to police, after the duo narrowed down the search area, the missing man was found safe, lying on the ground behind a woodpile.

“This is a great example of departments using their collective resources in order to achieve a positive result,” said Dartmouth Police Chief Brian Levesque. “The outcome of this incident further solidifies my belief that our K-9 division is one of the best in the area.”
