The snow is almost gone, and spring is around the corner. That's welcomed news for the folks at the Dartmouth Cultural Center.

Dartmouth Cultural Center Opens 2026 Exhibit Season

The DCC will open its 2026 exhibit season on March 20, displaying the work of Dartmouth High School AP students through March 28. Pauline Santos, President of DCC, said the annual exhibit is one of her favorites.

"It's great to see the young people and their parents enjoying the artwork in a gallery setting," Santos said. "It's just fun."

Santos stopped by Townsquare Sunday to discuss exhibits and workshops planned for March and April.

Dartmouth High AP Students Showcase Artwork

"The Dartmouth AP students' art exhibit is one of our bigger exhibits to be sure," Santos said. "Visitors will see all types of art, paintings, sculpture, digital art and photography. It's an experience for the students, because while their artwork has been displayed in school, it's probably the first time it's been displayed publicly in a gallery setting."

Alternative Photography Exhibit Coming in April

A second exhibit is planned for April 3-25 entitled "Alternative Photography." It focuses on a non-traditional or non-commercial photo printing process invented over 100 years ago that is now coming back into use. If you are a photography buff, you might want to check this out.

Loom Weaving Class Rescheduled After Blizzard

Because of the Blizzard of '26, the start of a five-week class on loom weaving with Lisa Elliott has been pushed to April 2. Check out the Dartmouth Cultural Center website for more information.

Cultural Center Seeking More Instructors

The Dartmouth Cultural Center has a long-standing need for instructors to teach classes and workshops, either in person or over the internet. Recently, the Center's Board of Directors took steps to attract the people needed.

The board voted to increase the hourly stipend from $30 to $40 per hour, plus additional funding for instructors whose class sizes exceed six students. "The lack of program instructors has been a long-standing issue for us," Santos said. "We're trying to get more people involved."

When to Visit the Dartmouth Cultural Center

The Dartmouth Cultural Center is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Visits during off-hours can be arranged by calling the center at (508) 991-0484.
