Burger fans on the SouthCoast, you may have missed some pretty big news.

Nancy Hall recently told us about LoveSac opening its first area store in Cranston, Rhode Island, but there was only one issue: as we say in the business, she “buried the lede.”

That’s because in her story, she gave brief mention to some big news for foodies in Southern New England – Shake Shack is also coming to Cranston.

The location is expected to open up in the Garden City shopping center very soon. It will be the second Rhode Island location for Shake Shack, after the first one opened on Thayer Street in Providence in 2019.

However, some folks like to avoid the hustle and bustle of the bigger cities, so they might not want to head to Boston or Providence to get their fix of Shake Shack’s famous burgers and handspun milkshakes, so the Garden City location might be more appealing.

In fact, one of our coworkers lives in Cranston and tells us that Garden City is a hidden gem when it comes to shopping and dining, so it may be worth making a day of your trip there.

In 2021, Fun 107’s Kari wrote an impassioned plea for Shake Shack to come to the SouthCoast, and perhaps another Rhode Island location less than 10 miles away from its first is an indication that the popular chain is ready to start spreading across the region.

We’re ready for you, Shake Shack. I’ll take a White Truffle Burger with a Tiramisu shake.

We have reached out to Shake Shack to find out if there is a target opening date yet, and will update this story if we hear back.
