When it comes to social media, we have many options to choose from. The majority of us have chosen Facebook to connect with people, but what about a professional network? That's where LinkedIn comes into play, but could the two professional and play networks soon become one in the same?

If you're looking for a place to keep track of your best friend's baby, or what your brother had for dinner, there is nothing better than Facebook. It's a social media giant.

However if you're looking to make connections in the work world, and even seek out new employment opportunities, LinkedIn is definitely the way to go. You can post your goals, your resume, and even connect with some big "powers that be" in the professional world. LinkedIn has a ways to go before they can compete with Facebook, but could Facebook be gunning for them?

According to a new article in the Albany Business Review, Facebook is testing a new option to add professional experience to your profile. This is certainly LinkedIn territory, but it wouldn't be the first time that Facebook has gone after a rival social network. Back in 2012 Facebook bought Instagram, making it so that your Instagram photos no longer automatically pop up on Twitter. The pictures do show up on your Facebook timeline, however.

If this testing goes well, and Facebook institutes both professional and personal life together, it will make for an interesting pairing. Most people like to keep those things separate, and for good reason. It wouldn't be the first time that Facebook has done something to push users away.
