Cool Museums Within Reach Of The Southcoast

There are some great museums in the area, and you may not even be aware of some.  This is also the ideal season to check them out as they won't be packed with tourists.  Here are some within easy driving distance to consider.

The New Bedford Whaling Museum.  When was the last time you checked out this amazing place?  You'll see the massive whale skeletons and climb aboard the world's largest whaling ship model.  For winter hours and prices, click here.

Museum of Newport History.  This beautiful, award-winning museum was recently featured on the travel channel.  If you are interested in New England history this is a must-visit destination.  For more info click here.

Newport Car Museum.  I'm guessing that not many people know about this cool place that's actually located in Portsmouth, RI. Many perfectly restored classic and exotic cars and even driving simulators.  For more information, click here.

John F. Kennedy Hyannis Museum.  This is the one that you'll have to wait until mid-April to visit.  You'll find historic photos, videos, and possessions of the 35th President of the United States.  Click here for more info.
