‘Cooking Safety Starts With YOU': New Bedford Fire Department Hosting Family Fun Fire Safety Day
The New Bedford Fire is hosting a fire prevention open house that welcomes all ages.
Starting Saturday, October 7th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, there will be pizza--while supplies last--and chicken nuggets courtesy of Cove Surf & Turf.
You'll find all the fun at the Public Safety Center, 912 Brock Ave in New Bedford where they will be going over fire safety tips and home safety information. They will also have New Bedford Emergency Services on site for more information.
The Fire Department will also allocate a dedicated time just for our 'sensory friends' from 3:30 until 4:00 PM. There will be no lights, sirens, or horns. No loud noises, or any other things that could overwhelm children who may be sensitive to bright lights and loud sounds.
Throughout the event, kids will be able to tour the New Bedford Firetrucks, meet Sparky, and learn all about the S.A.F.E Vehicle. The 'Fire Prevention Open House' will go over how dangerous it is to cook around children and show you how to prevent any dangerous situation in or out of the kitchen.
Useful information we should all be aware of so save the date and make it a fun night out with the family.
