Water bottle maker Contigo has re-issued a recall on its Kids Cleanable Water Bottles.

It's not a good day when you have to recall the replacement parts from your last recall, but that's just what is happening to Contigo.

Back in August, the Kids Cleanable Water Bottles were found to have spouts that could come off of the bottle and pose a choking hazard to the child using them.

The small silicone drinking spout had become detached in about 150 reported cases and so Contigo recalled over 5.7 million of the bottles to fix the problem.

Now, however, the "fix" is becoming a problem of its own.

Seems the replacement spouts sent to water bottle owners are now coming detached themselves and causing the same choking hazard to users as the first batch.

And so once again the company is recalling about 5.7 million Kids Cleanable Water Bottles.

The affected bottles come in several colors, but all have the black spout base and black spout cover.

If those are any color except black on your child's water bottle, you are just fine.

But if the spout base and spout cover are black, then you should stop using the water bottle immediately and contact Contigo for a refund as well as a free new water bottle.

And if you went through this already with the last recall, sorry to say you've got to contact them again.

Contigo can be reached about the recall toll-free at 888-262-0622 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST Monday through Friday or online at gocontigo.com/recall.
