Gherkin, dill, bread and butter, half sour and more will all be celebrated in Connecticut this summer. Mohegan Sun is hosting the Connecticut Pickle Festival, New England's largest pickle event of the year.

Pickle Festival Coming to Mohegan Sun

From Friday, July 25 through Sunday, July 27, pickle lovers will gather inside the Earth Expo & Convention Center for fun, entertainment and my favorite: free samples! UNLIMITED samples while you're there.

The event will feature pop, country and rock musicians performing throughout the three-day festival and even a mascot by the name of Pickle Pablo.

Of course there will be the fan favorites like fried pickles, but some of the pickle-flavored items may surprise you. Mohegan Sun released a list of some of the creative offerings available to enjoy:

  • pickle shaved ice
  • pickle fries
  • pickled topped ice cream
  • pickle shish kabobs
  • pickle quesadillas
  • Kool-Aid pickles
  • dill pickle kettle corn
  • pickle pasta salad
