Graduation is supposed to be a time for all families to enjoy the achievements of their child.

According to Scripps Media.com, four family members received arrest warrants after they ignored an onstage warning by a superintendent to not shout out during the ceremony and to hold their applause until after every graduating student’s name was announced. The audience was addressed that if they did not follow the superintendent’s instructions, they would be escorted out of the graduation ceremony at Senatobia High School in Senatobia, Mississippi.

Ursula Miller and another family member were two of the four people who were asked to leave the graduation. Miller explains that she only called her daughter’s name out when she went across the stage. The other family member waved a towel and screamed “You did it baby.”

However, that was not the end of it. The four family members were shocked when they received warrants approximately a week later after graduation.

Jay Foster, superintendent for the Senatobia Municipal School District filed charges for disturbing the peace for yelling at graduation. Officers issued warrants for their arrests with a possible $500 bond.

Their court date is set for Tuesday, June 9.
