Carver’s Edaville Family Theme Park Announces the Return of Thomas the Tank Engine
CARVER (WBSM) — Thomas the Tank Engine is returning to Carver’s Edaville Family Theme Park this summer.
Edaville announced today on its Facebook page that Thomas is “popping” back to Carver for a four-day visit during his “Day Out With Thomas Bubble Tour.”
The event features bubble-themed activities, and a special bubble design on Thomas, who will once again be pulling the train across Edaville’s tracks.
The event is happening August 24, 25, 31 and September 1 and tickets can be purchased through the Day Out With Thomas website. The tickets will include not only the train ride with Thomas but also admission to the park and all of the amusement rides.
Edaville had a long history of Day Out With Thomas events going back to the early 2000s, as a life-sized Thomas the Tank Engine came to Edaville to ride the rails, along with characters such as Sir Topham Hatt, and the park featured other Thomas-themed activities.
The events proved so popular that in 2014, Edaville announced the opening of Thomas Land, a $25 million addition that brought 11 themed rides to the park in the first park of its kind in the United States.
However, the Thomas Land portion of Edaville remained closed once the park reopened following the COVID-19 pandemic, and in January 2023, park owner Jon Delli Priscoli told the Carver Board of Selectmen that Thomas Land would not be reopening, while also announcing plans to developing housing on the site.

Prior to last season’s annual Festival of Lights event, Edaville revamped the former Thomas Land into the new Alpine Village, repurposing the rides to pay homage to Edaville and the Ellis D. Atwood Cranberry Company that led to the park’s creation.
