FAIRHAVEN — A longtime SouthCoast rollerskating rink is shuttering its doors later this fall after 27 years in business.

Carousel Family Fun Center on David Drown Boulevard in Fairhaven will close its doors permanently on November 11. The company’s other location in Whitman will remain open.

In a post on the Carousel website, it was announced that there will be a “Farewell Skate” in Fairhaven on Monday, November 11 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Carousel’s Fairhaven location will remain open with regular hours through November 11. According to the website, Carousel Fairhaven is still booking parties, field trips and fundraisers through that date.

While Carousel is encouraging people to use any coupons they have for the Fairhaven location before the closing date, the website says they will be accepted at the Carousel location in Whitman after November 11.

The Carousel Family Fun Center Fairhaven location came under fire in May of 2018 with allegations of racism and employee mistreatment by owner Charlene Conway.
