Cape Cod’s Massive Sand Sculpture Trail Is Back
A unique stroll through Yarmouth takes a beachside staple to the next level.
The 15th Annual Yarmouth Sand Sculpture Trail blends sand and style as the Cape Cod town is transformed into a town-wide gallery.
"From mid-May through mid-October, visitors can explore the trail of remarkable sculptures, each meticulously hand-carved by the professional artists at Fitzysnowman Sculpting," Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce Marketing, Communications & Events Director Amie Bissonnette said.
Meet the Artists Behind the Giant Sand Sculptures
"Fitzysnowman Sculpting is a Massachusetts-based, nationally recognized business that provides unique experiences through the use of art created live and in the studio," she said.

More than 85 tons of specialized sculpting sand is used to create these three-ton masterpieces. "They represent the largest trail in the U.S., offering a unique and memorable experience for the whole family," Bissonnette said.
Husband-and-wife duo Sean and Tracy are the artists who create every sculpture along the trail. For over a decade, the trail has been a go-to summer activity on the Cape.

What Visitors Can Expect Along the Trail
"It's so much fun to see the trail become a yearly tradition for families and visitors," Bissonnette said. "They spend the day exploring Yarmouth from one side to the other."
Along the way, visitors can see over 20 sculptures, stop for lunch or ice cream, and visit local landmarks.
Fan-Favorite Themes and Characters Through the Years
"Everyone loves checking out the creative themes and characters the businesses and sculptors came up with including, in the past, Bluey, Beavis & Butthead, Jaws references, and plenty of odes to the ocean and the fun sea creatures that live here on the Cape," Bissonnette said.
How to Find the Sand Sculpture Trail Maps
In mid-June, printed trail maps will be available at the Yarmouth Visitor Center, with digital versions online at yarmouthcapecod.com.
Visitors are encouraged to participate in the annual People’s Choice Award to win a Yarmouth getaway package and the weekly photo contest on Facebook for a chance to win local gift packages.
