As Celtics nation revels in the team's spot in the NBA Finals for the second time in three years, one diehard fan stands out: Jack Bienvenue.

His loyalty to the team garnered widespread attention during the 2022 NBA Finals.

Bienvenue proudly displayed his longtime team devotion in a tattoo, a permanent mark proving unwavering Boston loyalty.

Bienvenue, a native of Welfleet, Massachusetts, had a Boston Celtics 2022 World Championship banner tattooed on his upper left arm. Months ahead of the championship win, Bienvenue boldly booked an appointment at Hotline Tattoo in Hyannis with artist Taylor Lindley on March 23, 2022, convinced the Celtics were destined for victory.

Unfortunately for Bienvenue, his tattoo did not predict the future. The Celtics lost the 2022 NBA Finals to the Golden State Warriors.

Reflecting on the experience, Bienvenue said, “It didn’t really sink in until the next morning. I woke up and I look over and I’m like, ‘Jeez,’” he said.

Now 20 years old, Bienvenue has had two years to consider the fate of his 2022 tattoo. With the Celtics back in the NBA Finals, he is contemplating ideas for his tattoo that won’t alter the truth of how it all went down the first time.

“Yeah, I don’t think I do that necessarily because I feel like that just kills the whole story. I think even if I could just use an asterisk or something. It’s definitely something I’d want to talk over with my artist. Maybe we could, you know, spice up the area around it a bit. I don’t really want that to be the only Celtics-related tattoo on that area of my arm."

This time around, Bienvenue is not rushing to make any major changes to his tattoo.

“I’m kind of just waiting until they win, you know, to see what I’m going to do with it. And then once they win, I’ll decide. I was like, 'I can’t do this again because then if I do it again and they lose, that could be it for me.' But you know, I’m pretty confident this year, whoever we end up facing, it looks like it’s going to be Dallas, but you know, it looks like it’s going to be a great series in the finals."

Bienvenue is betting on the Boston Celtics versus the Dallas Mavericks, believing it would be “totally full circle to run into Kyrie (Irving)."

As the Celtics charge into the finals once more, Bienvenue's story of faith and devotion is sure to inspire fans worldwide.
