Buttonwood Park Zoo Hosts Free Admission Day During Winter Break
New Bedford's beloved zoo has partnered with Highland Street Foundation for the seventh year in a row to offer a day of free admission to families during the winter vacation as part of the “Winter Camp 2022” program.
The Zoo will be open for all to attend for free on Friday, February 25 from 9 am to 4 pm, with the last entry being at 3:15 pm. Pre-registration is not required to attend the Free Admission Day.
Sarah Henry is the Development and Marketing Officer at Buttonwood Park Zoological Society. She comments on what visitors can expect during school vacation week.
“We are thrilled to offer our community free admission for one day during February Vacation Week, thanks to our ongoing partnership with Highland Street Foundation,” Henry said. “As we have many species here that thrive in cold weather, winter is a great time to visit! Throughout the entire vacation week, we will have an enhanced keeper chat and animal encounter schedule, our gift store and café will be open, and our always popular Wildlife Carousel and Black Bear Express Train will be running, weather permitting.”
Highland Street Foundation knows why the Buttonwood Park Zoo is a great destination for any family during winter break. "Winter is the perfect time to visit Buttonwood Park Zoo in New Bedford! Home to many cold-weather-loving species, it's a great chance to see the antics of adorable red pandas, playful river otters, and lumbering black bears. Charlie's Nature Play is open and the possibilities for fun are endless! Take a walk on the wild side with BPZOO!"
