TAUNTON (WBSM) — Authorities are investigating after a Brockton teen was fatally shot in Taunton just after midnight today.

According to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Taunton Police responded at about 12:25 a.m. today to 351 Lothrop Street after receiving a 911 call about a person being shot inside a mobile home at that address.

First responders arrived and found the victim, who was later identified as Khamitri Cole, 17, of Brockton.

Cole was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting at 12:45 a.m., the D.A.’s Office said.

It was also learned that a second person, an 18-year-old male from Holyoke, was also shot in the same incident and took himself to the hospital for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

The D.A.’s Office did not say if there were any suspects in the shooting at this time.

The investigation remains active and ongoing by Massachusetts State Police detectives, Taunton Police and Homicide Unit prosecutors.
