Brockton Boys Basketball Team Earns Praise at Stoughton TGI Fridays for Admirable Manners
In a world where good manners can sometimes go unnoticed, the Brockton High School boys basketball team made a lasting impression during a recent visit to TGI Fridays in Stoughton.
On January 7, Kristen Faltus, an employee at the restaurant, shared her heartfelt experience with the team on Facebook, hoping to get the word out to their coach and principal.
“I had the boys basketball team come in to TGI Fridays in Stoughton. There were 11-12 of them. The captain called ahead and made reservations. Every single player had manners and were very polite," Faltus wrote.
"When the food came, NOT ONE boy ate before ALL THE FOOD was served. And the captain told them no phones while eating. They even said a dinner prayer before they began!!" she wrote.
Faltus concluded her post by wishing the team luck against Durfee High School, the team they were getting prepped to play against the following day, expressing her pleasure in serving such a respectful group.
Though the Boxers faced a tough game against the Durfee Hilltoppers, losing 51-78 on January 9, their conduct at the dinner table earned them admiration from the Brockton community. The boys, led by their captain's example, demonstrated values of respect, patience and gratitude, showing that sportsmanship extends beyond the court.
The team may not have secured a victory in their game, but they certainly won the hearts of their home city and are welcomed back to Stoughton's TGI Fridays with open arms.
Respect.
