"Hello, is this planet Earth?"

It sounds like a prank phone call, but it was actually British astronaut Tim Peake attempting to wish his family a merry Christmas from the International Space Station (ISS).

Shortly after the incident, Peake took to Twitter with an apology.

According to BBC News, Peake arrived at the ISS December 15 and will spend six months there conducting scientific experiments.

Peake is the first Britain to join the crew of the ISS and is employed by the European Space Agency.
