When Chris Jericho Came to Investigate the Bridgewater Triangle

AEW wrestler and Fozzy lead singer Chris Jericho is known by many names: “Le Champion,” “The Demo God” and “The Ayatollah of Rock and Rollah,” just to name a few. Yet there’s also one label you might not know also applies to Jericho: paranormal enthusiast.

Back in 2015, Jericho came to Massachusetts to look into the Bridgewater Triangle, a mysterious vortex with all types of claims of paranormal activity. The term “Bridgewater Triangle” was first coined by cryptozoologist Loren Coleman in the late 1970s, and it gained widespread recognition with the publication of his 1983 book Mysterious America.

It really broke into the mainstream in 2014 with the release of The Bridgewater Triangle documentary, which you can now watch for free on YouTube.

There are so many examples of paranormal phenomena taking place in the Triangle, everything from hauntings to UFO sightings to outright alien abductions. There are also sightings of cryptid creatures such Bigfoot and giant thunderbirds, not to mention all of the true crime that has happened in places like the Fall River-Freetown State Forest, including a supposed Satanic cult.

So it’s no wonder that Jericho was interested in coming here to film a “sizzle reel” for a potential television show that would feature him and a team of other paranormal investigators and experts trying to solve the mysteries of the Bridgewater Triangle.

Because of my work in the paranormal world, I got to be one of those “experts,” offering insight into the Triangle. Although I only appear briefly at the beginning of the sizzle reel, I did get to spend an afternoon hanging with my all-time favorite pro wrestler, and it was a real highlight for me even if the show didn’t get picked up by the network.

Paranormal Activity Reported in Massachusetts' Bridgewater Triangle

In his 1983 book Mysterious America, cryptozoologist Loren Coleman introduced a term he originally coined in the late 1970s – the Bridgewater Triangle – to describe an area with an abnormal level of paranormal activity and high strangeness in Southeastern Massachusetts. Over the years, the concept of the Triangle has expanded to include ghostly reports, UFO sightings, cryptid encounters, alien abductions and more across a wider swath of Southern New England.
