BRIDGEWATER — Bridgewater police said the body of a missing town resident has been found after a massive search late Wednesday afternoon.

The 67-year-old man has not yet been identified.

He was last seen on Tuesday at his home on North Street, and was reported missing by relatives.

Police and partners searched the area on foot, by drone, with all terrain vehicles, K-9 search teams, and infrared cameras, according to the department.

After a long search, a Massachusetts Department of Correction K-9 team eventually found the man's body in a wooded area near the Scotland Industrial Park.

Police said foul play is not suspected, but the man's death is under investigation, as is standard procedure.

Bridgewater Police Chief Christopher Delmonte offered condolences to the man's family and thanked law enforcement agencies and other first responder partners for joining the search.

“We appreciate the response of our surrounding communities’ police and fire departments from throughout the region that joined the search effort,” he said.
