The East Bridgewater Police Department probably didn't expect a post recognizing one of its finest to go viral, but it did and we think we know why.

We all have our opinion and experiences with law enforcement and most of the time they get a bad wrap. We are usually bombarded with horrible stories about the police. I thought it about time to share a feel-good story about the type of cop we all want on our side.

Recently, the East Bridgewater Police Department posted on its Facebook page recognizing one of its finest – and yes, I mean that in more than one way.

His name is Officer Cory McLaughlin he has been with the East Bridgewater Police Department for just over five years.

East Bridgewater Police Chief Michael Jenkins shared with us that Officer McLaughlin was present at the Bike and Summer Safety event held at the Cadence Academy Preschool. The event was to teach kids all about bike safety.

Officer McLaughlin had no problem throwing on a unicorn-inspired helmet and riding around on a pink bike for the sake of getting young children's attention on the importance of safety.

This event wasn't the only time Officer McLaughlin helped his community; just before this event he helped a stranded driver on the side of the road replace a flat tire. That civilian would later wrote to the department expressing their gratitude.

The post sharing and acknowledging this officer is picking up traction online as you can see.

It doesn't hurt that Officer McLaughlin is what some would call a "hot cop."

We also wanted to share our gratitude to Officer McLaughlin and all the officers who not only keep us safe but take pride in their service to our community.

Massachusetts Laws You Don't Even Know You're Breaking

There are a lot of strange laws still on the books in Massachusetts, many that also carry actual punishments and fines. Though we're pretty sure no one has been arrested for the crimes we're about to list, we're also pretty sure you have violated at least one of these laws in the last month or so.
