Boxing Returns to New Bedford [AUDIO]
"Leeeeetttt's get ready to ruuuummmmbbbbllleeee!"
It's my absolute honor to present the good news that boxing is back in New Bedford. On Saturday night, February 9 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., witness the thrill of boxing and the announcement of each fighter in 16 different bouts at the new Kilburn Mills Event Center in the South End. The matches will be held in a 21,000-square foot facility that was once home to the mile-long whaling museum panorama.
Witness the "best of the best" fighters drawn from the Golden Gloves. These amateur boxers were carefully chosen and professionally matched up with a goal to have monthly fights and a training facility.
There's no dress code required, but feel free to dress to impress. Kilburn Event Center is a great way to give local boxers and coaches an opportunity to fill in their schedules by having more fights, and more chances to showcase amateur fighters from the SouthCoast.
Trust me, this is not a sketchy basement fight; these are real boxers in real bouts. I'll be there as the special guest ring announcer.
Tickets are $25 for standing, $40 for seats and you can get them online here:
You'll even see some familiar face there such as Jimmy Burchfield, the owner of CES, who will be front and center alongside New England super lightweight titleholder and UBF All-American titleholder Nick Delomba. Dennis Paiva, Jake Paradise, and Kevin "The Bully" Cobbs are just a few of the names that will be in the crowd, cheering on our local boxers.
Hear Michael Rock, Christine Fox and I from the Rock and Fox Show getting ready for the big night:
