Fairhaven artist Jeff Saint has turned one of the most unforgettable moments in recent Patriots history into a piece of local sports memorabilia, and he did it using nothing but spray paint.

Saint created a 4 x 4 spray paint portrait celebrating Kayshon Boutte’s miracle catch in the snow during New England’s playoff game against the Houston Texans. The catch quickly became one of those iconic sports moments for fans, and Saint felt it deserved the same kind of larger than life treatment you usually only see in murals or gallery showpieces.

From Instagram Message to Real Life Meeting

Saint said the opportunity came together fast. Boutte’s agent reached out after the painting caught attention on Fun107.com, and then Boutte himself followed up directly.

“Keyshon himself actually reached out and said that he liked it,” Saint said, calling it a surreal moment to hear from the player personally. From there, they worked through logistics with a tight timeline since Boutte and the team were leaving for the Super Bowl on Sunday afternoon after the Patriots rally at Gillette

Boutte was flattered admitting, "No one has ever painted me before."

A Private Hand Off and A Humble Reaction

The meet up happened Friday afternoon at a private training facility where Boutte was working out in front of cameras catching footage for the Super Bowl coverage. Boutte was working out alongside his wife, kids, and his agent as the film crew recorded content.

Saint said Boutte was grateful and humble, and even seemed genuinely taken aback by the gift. Saint kept the moment brief so Boutte could get back to work preparing for the biggest game of his life.

A Four By Four Painting With a Surprise Delivery

The artwork itself is not small. Saint said the piece is four by four on wood, an awkward size that does not bend. When it became clear it would not fit properly for Boutte to take right then, the wide receiver asked for a favor.

Saint ended up hand delivering the painting to Boutte’s house, turning an already wild story into a once in a lifetime experience. Saint said he is hoping the painting sparks interest with other players, but either way, he plans to keep creating and let the work speak for itself.
