Boston Speakeasy Transforms into ’90s Video Store for Nostalgic Experience
It’s 1998. You head to Blockbuster with your best friends, rent the newest movie on the shelves, grab a pack of Twizzlers and hand over your membership card before heading out for the perfect Friday night. Life is good.
Want to relive the glory days? A Boston speakeasy is bringing back the video store era for a unique nightlife experience.
Bucket Listers is partnering with West End Johnnies to present “Back 2 The Video Store," a drinking experience inspired by the art of renting videos during the '90s.
“You’ll enter the hidden Video Store Bar and transport back to a simpler time — where Friday nights at the video store was an experience,” Bucket Listers said. “From lava lamps to pog-playing stations and very memorable TV/Film scenes turned into photo moments, there is no shortage of things to blast you back in time!”

What to Expect at Back 2 The Video Store
Choose your movie-themed cocktail as you browse the video store shelves. The typical aisles of Romance, Horror and Comedy have been replaced with “Cocktails,” “Beer” and “Wine." Instead of pulling down a movie from the shelf, you’ll pull down your drink of choice.
Curated cocktails inspired by award-winning films, food options, and a nostalgic atmosphere make this event series one to remember.
