Ben Stiller Dines Vegan With Daughter in Cambridge
Ben Stiller may not be a vegan, but he was willing to eat like one for his daughter this weekend in Cambridge.
The actor and his daughter were reportedly in town for just the day and decided to stop for something to eat at PlantPub in Kendall Square. The vegan restaurant is fairly new to the Boston area, but it is already getting some big-name clients.
Just a few weeks ago, Zendaya was seen eating there with her father and new dog. Now Stiller and his daughter Ella have swung through, too. Not too shabby for a place that has been open for about six months.
PlantPub is known for making plant-based versions of diner-favorite pub foods and the reviews say the place is amazing. Reviewers often comment that they need to double or even triple-check that the food is actually vegan, it's so darn good.
Stiller himself is not a vegan, however. The comedic actor told staff at the restaurant that his daughter, Ella, is the one who follows a vegan diet and had heard the rave reviews for PlantPub, making it a must-stop location for the pair on their day in the city.
According to PlantPub's Facebook page, Stiller was a very good customer and he even posed for a photo with co-owner Pat McAuley.
McAuley also says Stiller was kind enough to take a selfie with a young fan eating there as well, though most other customers were kind enough to give the actor his space.
No word on what brought the father/daughter pair to Boston for the day, but considering Stiller's daughter is 19, she might be looking into area colleges for next semester.
